Spot prices are pre-filled from a daily morning data collection and will not reflect real-time market prices. Always verify current spot price from a live source before relying on any calculation for a purchase or sale decision.
The historical premiums tracker collects pricing data once daily from multiple online bullion dealers. This data may be affected by active sales, promotional pricing, out-of-stock products, back-ordered items, or temporary changes to dealer websites. Automated data collection is imperfect. Occasional errors, missing data points, or anomalies should be expected.
What is being tracked: For silver, the tracker records the single-unit retail price only, specifically the lowest available quantity tier price for American Silver Eagles, silver rounds, and Canadian Silver Maple Leafs. For gold, the tracker records the single-ounce retail price. These are the only data points collected. Each dealer may offer lower prices at higher quantities, and if you are buying in bulk, those bulk discounts are not reflected here. Always check directly with the dealer for pricing on larger orders.
One listing per product, per dealer: The tracker captures one specific listing per product category per dealer. Each dealer may run sales, promotions, or carry other products in the same category that carry lower premiums than what is tracked here. The absence of those deals in this tracker does not mean they don't exist. This tool makes no attempt to find the best available price, it tracks one consistent data point over time.
Spot price comparison: Premiums shown in the tracker are calculated against the spot price collected each morning when the data collection runs. Because dealers use their own live spot price feeds that fluctuate throughout the day, the averaged premiums displayed here may look slightly different than what you would calculate manually at any given moment.
This tool exists for one purpose: to track rough premium trends over a long period of time. It is not a real-time quote, it does not represent the best available price, and it should not be used as the basis for any purchase or sale decision. Always verify current pricing directly with the dealer before transacting.
